Cryptopia - A New Zealand based currency exchange.

The Robinhood App is coming out with a version for cryptocurrencies and I'll let you know about it soon. It launched in February 2018 and I'm on the waiting list. My state wasn't one of the first five on the rollout. The Robinhood App is and will be commission free, so get the Robinhood App right here.

Coin Base - This is where most beginners should start. The format is very user friendly. The info and layout of some of the other Crypto Sites can scare people.

SpectroCoin - The main reason I'm excited about Spectrocoin is because of Bankera. Bankera is Spectrocoin's token and it's just out of the ICO.

Kucoin - this is a new exchange but they list new coins quite quickly and they are starting to become known. The user interface is similar to Binance.

And here are some other helpful cryptocurrency sites.

Coin Market Cap - an awesome site that shows the top cryptocurrencies, along with market cap, price, trading volume, circulating supply, 24 hour change, and a 7 day graph.

Coin Market Cap is so helpful and gives you a snapshot of each currency so you can decide what to buy.

Coin Check Up - another good site to learn the purpose and description of currencies you are researching. You get Charts, Analysis, Investment, Predictions, Markets (where to get the coin), Purpose, News, Resources, and Related Info. It's really a gold mine!

Coin Puffs - A lot like Coin Market Cap, Coin Puffs has some nice features. They figure their market cap a bit differently.

Coin Market Calendar - the best Cryptocurrency Calendar I've come across, with info on ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) so that you can get some of the new coins when they are just pennies!

Crush Crypto - Weekly and Monthly Updates

Vector Space - Really fun. You an enter a phrase or word and it scans the media and returns cryptocurrencies that relate to the word or phrase. It includes initial coin offerings also in the content that it returns to you.


Best YouTube Channels

Ready, Set, Crypto

Ready, Set, Crypto is the best channel I've found. They don't take payments for promoting anything. Their team gives free useful advice on the crypto currency markets.

Ivan on Tech

Ivan is a programmer himself and brings this viewpoint into his videos, giving you the technical aspects of different coins and tokens and crypto projects.

David Hay

David makes a lot of videos and they are very well done. You'll learn a lot from his expertise.

Cedric Dahl

Very informative videos. He doesn't like Ripple! He does look for certain criteria when deciding what to invest in. It's not financial advice (of course). You have to use the criteria yourself, which is very doable. You'll get a lot from his channel.

Louis Thomas

Louis is from Wales, and presents with candor and honesty. He's quite experienced with crypto, and Ethereum is his favorits. But he does cover lots of other coins and projects.

Tony Tian

Tony gives you a more technical analysis, teaching you about chart patterns, support, resistance, and the like. He also presents a lot of the recent news about Cryptocurrencies.

Top Individual Videos

This is the BEST explanation of how Bitcoin (specifically, Proof of Work) operates. So if you want to understand why they are called Crypto Currencies, then this video is for you.

The Future Will Be Decentralized - by Charles Hoskinson, the developer of Cardano. This video explains WHY the decentralized projects can help underbanked people throughout the world.

Innovation Without Permission - Only about one out of 100 videos that I watch are powerful enough and relevant enough to share here. This is one of those videos, and I also share it with my friends and family who are getting interested in the blockchain and crypto. Coin Desk has some spectacular resources to help you learn and get started in the cryptocurrency market. They have some specific tutorials on the blockchain if you are interested in the technical side of crypto.

Coin Telegraph

This is a news site that has lots of events and articles. They report news hourly, and in the cryptocurrency space there is a LOT happening. There is so much news that you can't even track it all. But you can pick and choose what events are most pertinent to you.

Terms to Define

KYC

Know Your Customer. Know your customer ('KYC') is the process of a business identifying and verifying the identity of its clients. The term is also used to refer to the bank and anti-money laundering regulations which governs these activities. Snippet taken from Wikipedia - read more here.

Whale

A whale is the biggest creature in the ocean and can have more of an influence than any other fish, so in the crypto world the term "Whale" refers to people or groups that have / own / buy a large volume of a particular coin.

Smart Contract

Smart contracts can run on the blockchain. A smart contract is a computer protocol intended to digitally facilitate, verify, or enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract. Smart contracts allow the performance of credible transactions without third parties. These transactions are trackable and irreversible (which makes them very useful). To HODL your crypto means to Hold it. It was a misspelling at one point and then it just stuck! So it means to hold your coins or tokens for the long term, as opposed to selling off when the price goes up a bit.
